Redwood Tree

One dewy morning in the forest
We walk a path that winds before us.
As we quietly explore
We find the peace that we hope for.
A tiny frog sings a noisy song
While crickets try to play along.
The woods are thick with ferns and vines
Beneath the chinqopin and pines.
And high above my dog and me
Towers a mighty redwood tree.
Together we are safe and sure
Our natural world feels quite secure.

Oh, how I would love to frolic amongst the redwood trees some day...
