Don't Believe Everything You Hear

Sometimes we are our own worst enemy. Others may criticize or belittle our talent, but when they are quiet we take over for them. What makes you think you can write? Let's face it you don't have any talent! Your work isn't even close to being good enough!

Does any of that sound familiar? Some of us can't see our abilities and run ourselves down, others believe what they have been told by people who don't really know what is good. It is important that we don't repeat the negative comments of others, out loud, or even in our heads. When you repeat it, you confirm it, and it becomes self-fulfilling prophesy.

Tell yourself only positive things, and when a negative thought tries to sneak in shout "STOP"! Then repeat a positive thought out loud. Do it twice for every negative thought. Be twice as positive.

Study, read, practice, write, submit and when those acceptances start coming in give them a place of honor. Remind yourself of your successes everyday. If you believe it, it will happen.

AMEN! About six months ago, I began to pray that my words would find favor - first with God, and then with others.

Philippians 4:8
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

If we do this, we won't have time to dwell on negative thoughts!
